After a brief, 4 year stint at the University of York for an MPhys degree, I jumped ship for Durham, to join the Joint Quantum Centre. I am currently working on the realisation of a compact, low temperature ion source, which will be based on a new design of magneto-optical trap; made possible by surface-patterned grating chips.
