I am currently studying for a Ph.D as part of the 'Quantum optics in dense thermal vapours' project. I work with fellow Ph.D student Dan Whiting, postdoc James Keaveney and supervisors Ifan Hughes and Charles Adams. My research interests involve experimental and theoretical studies of spectroscopy, pulse propagation and the Faraday effect, in thermal alkali metal vapours.
A particular focus of my research is atoms in very large magnetic fields (~ one tesla).
I have written and currently maintain the ElecSus program. The program calculates the linear electric susceptibility spectrum for Na, K, Rb and Cs vapours.
