I studied for my undergraduate degree in maths with physics here in Durham.  I am currently a phD student having started in October 2009 within the bright soliton / 1D BEC theory group here at Durham.  My main research interests so far have been full quantum mechanical studies of attractive Bose gases especially with the addition of harmonic confinement to look for beyond the GPE effects in soliton collisions and effective thermalisation timescales.  This work uses exactly diagonalisation of the Hamiltonian and considerations via the Bethe Ansatz.

In addition to my research I am also a representative on the post graduate student staff consulting committee.
