The Joint Quantum Centre Symposium on Quantum Technologies was held in Durham University on Friday 19th September 2014.
The symposium was organised by Dr. Dermot Green. It showcased cutting-edge research in Atomic and Molecular Physics taking place at the JQC and beyond, with particular focus on that which has promise for the development of new technologies. We had a stellar line-up of speakers, including invited keynote talks from Prof. Ed Hinds (Imperial) and Prof. Bill Phillips (JQI/NIST), and contributed talks from JQC members Prof. Charles Adams, Dr. Matt Jones and Prof. Nick Proukakis, as well as Christopher Smith (United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office).
The detailed workshop programme and abstracts are available here.
All talks took place in the Rosemary Cramp lecture theatre in the Calman Learning Centre, Durham University.
The symposium followed the Institute of Physics Quamp 2014 conference (held in Durham Monday 15th – Thursday 18th September 2014), and all Quamp delegates, in addition to all Newcastle/Durham JQC members, were encouraged to attend.
